Judy Talks About The Relationship with Self There
is a lot being said in the media today about relationships. Although
we have been enlightened about our connection to just about everything,
the one piece that has been mostly ignored is our relationship with
ourselves. We are caring with our spouses or partners, loving with our children, tender with our pets. We maintain positive work relationships, and do our best with extended family and in-laws. When it comes to ourselves, we may not even know that we have this internal connection and yet, it is our most important relationship. We can be mean to ourselves, treating the self like a second rate and unimportant person. Many people criticize themselves for every little thing and find fault constantly. Some peoples high expectations of themselves feel more like curses than goals. Others have very little appreciation, kindness or even respect for themselves. If we had a computer that could print out all the thoughts and feelings that you have for yourself throughout the day, what would it be like? Would those thoughts and feelings be caring and encouraging? Would there be patience when something was difficult? Would there be allowances for mistakes and faults? Would there be comfort and support in the rough patches? The way we treat ourselves affects our lives creating low self-esteem, addictions, and other problems. If this rings true, I can help. Please call me at 604-538-9796. |
